  11. There needs to be actual responsibility for this.

    My dad managed fleets of trucks. At a certain level, he needed to take a qualification and as part of that he needed to accept some degree of liability for what happened with respect to the vehicles and drivers under his control.

    Simply tell the senior staff of the prison and police services that they can be held *personally* negligent if a dangerous criminal is released under their supervision and goes on to commit a crime. Let’s say… 1/3 of the sentence received by the individual, so if you release somebody and they murder somebody and get 30 years, you’re doing 10.

    It will take a week for this stuff to stop happening.

  14. The police take biometrics when they arrest someone…. why do the authorities therefore not re-check this before releasing anybody? :s

  16. Maybe, if he had been deported after his first offence. The whole system is broken. It needs a some assertive and direct action to shake the tree and sort the mess out, including promptly removing problem nationals when they first start their criminality.

    Personally, I have no faith that Lammy, or Labour have the competence or the will to sort this all out. For example, Lammy actively and successfully disrupted the deportation of foreign criminals along with his fellow MPs back in 2020.

    Algerian man commits sexual offences > Gets Arrested by **Police** > **Police** secure enough evidence to pass to the CPS and authorise a charge > CPS prosecutes the man > Man gets sentenced by the Courts, who also work out how much time he is serving > Courts tell prison the time is X amount and there is somehow a communication error between the Courts and Prisons > Man walks away from prison after being released wrongly and no one realised they entered something wrong.

    All of that and its still the Cyclists fault?

    It’s very plausible that he wasn’t aware he was “on the run”
