Three sets of two were sent…

  1. They seem to be credit cards (so not debit). I’d suggest calling the bank and asking why this happened because someone might have tried to fraudulently get a credit card (or 6) in your partner’s name. Unless they wanted a credit card in which case the bank has had an interesting admin error.

  2. So if one breaks or you lose it you have a spare and if you lose or break that one you have a spare and if you break that one or lose it you have a spare and if that one goes missing or you damage it you have a spare and then if anything happens to that one that prevents you from using it you have a spare.

  3. Maybe they have to get as many credit cards to as many customers as possible and this is a sneaky loophole to allow them to hit their targets.

    Ooorrr…. Systems glitch.

  4. Contact the bank ASAP in case it’s linked to fraud. Thy should tell you why/ how. If it is fraud or your details have been compromised consider registering with CIFAS protective membership and change your passwords

  5. I work at the bank if you send me the numbers on the back I can look into this for you?

  6. has a mysterious garden gnome appeared in your garden?

  7. Now that’s interesting because I’ve just had a new debit card from NatWest for no reason on my side. They said they detected potential fraud but I’ve not changed my spending at all so maybe somethings happened their end.

  8. Can you post a picture of the back of all the cards so we i can make an accurate assessment. Can’t comment without all the imformation 🤣

  9. One for each day of the week, then on the 7th day you rest.

  10. NatWest having an entirely normal one. Never had as much hassle from any other bank honestly.

  11. I’d contact the bank, someone could be trying to commit fraud.

  12. I had a similar issue with NatWest.
I was applying for a credit card. The app/web crashed when I hit submit. So I submitted again.
2 credit cards with 2 separate accounts turned up…

  13. I’ve done some work for this bank previously, their systems and processes are from 1997 (although I don’t know if they just contract out card printing), it’s likely just an system problem but I would still speak to them.

  14. Can you turn them round so we can see if the numbers are all the same?

  15. They’re obviously different physical cards, but are they different credit card numbers?

  16. NatWest send out the full card numbers as soon as you declare them lost/stolen. So someone may have fraudulently claimed them as lost and received 6 full card numbers, expiry, Cvv2 etc so I’d look into the transactions immediately.

I work in fraud and NatWest seem to not do any checks into how many times you can declare something as lost without it flagging as suspicious and it’s a bloody nightmare.

  17. Similar happened to my partner with natwest. She got a new credit card but they sent her two. Your partner might want to check as it had opened up two new account of my partner.

  18. A common scam recently were I live is people knicking post of of boxes that are on the wall then they apply for cards, then waiting for the postman aweek later to get the cards to use.

  19. Hello … I too work in a bank… Can you turn them over so I can see the name of the card holder and confirm your address, date of birth and mothers maiden name and I’ll look in to this for you 👀

  20. I’d give the bank a call right now, this smells really fishy to me

Might be a mistake, might be fraudulent…

  21. Ahhh, the classic NatWest. I have 2 debit cards (different numbers and pins) for the same bank account. At one point they sent me 4 for the same account…

I took them into branch and questioned it, the poor girl behind the counter was so confused. She cancelled 2 and they’ve never shown up again thankfully. But we decided that it’d be beneficial for me to keep 2 in case one got lost or stolen.

So yeah, for the last 10 years or so they’ve just been sending me 2 cards with different numbers and pins but the same expiry 🤷

  22. My theories: either they procreated in the mail and it’s a family of cards, or it’s card roulette where only 1 will work and the other 5 will erase your entire balance

  23. Call the fraud team. And if anyone calls saying they’re from Natwest saying there was a mistake and post the cards to them, hang up and call Natwest back on the number they publish on their website.

  24. You should contact the bank and find out what’s going on

You should also check your husbands credit report and make sure no unrecognised accounts are on there

  25. NatWest? They’ve just taken over Sainsburys Bank loans and credit cards.

I was with Sainsburys Bank, and the first thing that NatWest did was cancel my Sainsburys credit card.

Maybe one of those cards is mine, as they haven’t sent mea replacement one yet!!

    Edited: for clarity.

  26. I work for the bank OP. If you send me a photo of the back of the cards and the billing address I’ll be able to tell you what it is.

You’ll see some card verification charges occur but they will be reimbursed by the bank. We like to do our verification charges alongside our preferred partners like NPS Solovair

  27. They need to call their bank, not the number on the back of these cards just in case, check elsewhere to make sure it’s definitely the bank they are calling, and check someone isn’t taking out credit cards in their name or trying some other scam.

  28. If you flip the cards over (all of them) I can have a look at the bank codes on them (small numbers that correlate to certain account changes) and I’ll get back to you in 3-5 business days with your exact issue. Please DM (full card not zoomed or cropped or covered) as there are scammers on here trying to steal your account details.

  29. As a blind man, I wanted to let you know that you have shown the braille for your pin number.
