GTA VI video game delayed again until November 2026 • FRANCE 24 English

Now, pulling off a heist in Vice City and recklessly driving through its streets is going to have to wait another 6 months. The release of Grand Theft Auto 6 has been pushed back yet again to November of 2026. GTA 6 has been in development for more than a decade now. Originally scheduled for release this autumn, Rockstar Games issued a statement saying it needed extra months to finish the game with the level of polish fans had come to expect and deserve. So far, Rockstar’s kept its cards close to its chest, teasing fans with only two trailers that introduce Lucia and Jason, a Bonnie and Clyde style pair caught up in all sorts of trouble across the state of Leonida, a world inspired by Florida. Expectations are high for the release after GTA 5 became one of the bestselling games of all time, estimated to have generated nearly $10 billion in revenue since it was released back in 2013. Many are predicting GTA 6 will be the biggest gaming launch ever and possibly the most expensive game ever made. The title is crucial for a struggling games industry plagued by tens of thousands of layoffs in recent years. It’s expected to give console and hardware sales a much needed boost.

Another delay for GTA. The sixth edition of the video game has been pushed back to November 19, 2026 – six months later than expected. Millions of fans have been waiting more than a decade for the next instalment in the bestselling franchise, but developers say they need more time to polish it. Many are predicting GTA VIwill be the biggest gaming launch ever, and possibly the most expensive game ever made.
