  1. With buying to rent all they want out of a person is the ability to be a tight landlord. You don’t need a degree to extort the less fortunate.

  2. Dude was in the Daredevil TV show and Red Dead Redemption 2.

He would have been 23 in this ad. Probably had a wad of money from Angela’s Ashes and planned to have a room mate cover some.

  3. I mind a friend of mine was going out to San Francisco to do summer volunteer work around the mid-2000s. At the time, the US were still weird about accepting debit cards, so he applied for a credit card to use while he was out there.

He was refused the credit card on the grounds that he didn’t have a permanent job (he was a teacher on a rolling contract). He was a bit pissed off (seeing how hard it can be to get permanent as a teacher) but figured he’d work around it somehow.

Unbelievably, the bank manager personally rang him the very next day to say “Sorry, the credit card section is nothing to with us, but are you interested in a mortgage? We can offer you X and maybe more if you bring some documentation”. Can’t get a €3.5k credit card, but have a quarter of a million euro, be grand.

I mean, I say unbelievably, we all know stories like that. Madness.
