This is a screenshot taken from another post on reddit. The OP claimed he saw multiple of these posters. I may have taken it the wrong way, but I saw it as a threat against those who deal drugs. I searched the interwebs for details but found only articles from the 90s. I am aware that this sub is supremely anti- UVF, but I hope you can just answer this sincere question sincerely and leave out the aggresive remarks. Does anybody in Belfast know of any cases where terrible action was taken against such people by the UVF? Or any other details regarding this matter? I thank you.

Yes I know people who have been harmed for not paying their debts. Spend a bit of time on botanic avenue and you’ll see them. These are people that have little to no family and rely on drugs to soothe their mental illness. That’s why you don’t hear about it.
There’s also the fear aspect. Most people are so afraid of missing their payments and getting badly harmed they’d rather steal from others to pay their debt than face those repercussions. AKA, intimidation.
So, reading the words of the poster it appears to be a notice claiming to be from the UVF. After that I can’t tell if it’s stating that the EAST BELFAST UVF DO NOT SELL DRUGS or if it’s an instruction to the EAST BELFAST UVF to stop selling drugs. Beyond that I can imagine nothing short of fireworks if anyone actually tries to report a member of the EAST BELFAST UVF to either a political rep or the UVF (or is there a distinction?)
Either way, I’m sure the North East and South East UVF can hook a guy up.

Not East Belfast but a guy who was in my primary school class was kneecapped by the UVF for repeatedly selling drugs to children. Happened on the same day I discovered I’d been accepted into Queens. I blame the parents (for railroading me into uni – could’ve been dealing drugs or something class like that)
