I was the one that made this post
https://www.reddit.com/r/Finland/comments/1ohqiqh/i_like_finland_i_want_to_stay_but_i_dont_know_how/ but it was my secondary account.

So anyway, since that post I got a few trials and interviews, but most of them all failed (one of them I was close to get the job, then some freak accident happened and the offer got withdrawn), some few others I will have interviews next week. But the thing I am most worried about is whether recruiters will turn away when they see that my resident permit will expire in a week. As of now, the best possible resident permit I can apply for is for a completed degree ( https://migri.fi/en/degree-completed-in-finland ), but for that I need a job and the hiring company to inform Migri, so I can't do this alone. So within one week, I have to find a place that will hire me, so that I can complete and do the application.

I just don't want to go back home, I still have debt to pay that I cannot go back until it is paid, and I can't even afford to buy a plane ticket right now.

  1. idk thats pretty tough situation. maybe you could start a business. do the entrepreneur business? wouldnt even have to be an amazing business idea. you get assistance in terms if a monthly 909€ or something. you could just go pick berries make pies. im not sure.

  2. It doesn’t look good, I’m not gonna lie. You need to start making arrangements on leaving.

  3. Sounds impossible, not gonna lie. Even one week is not enough to wrap up things in Finland before leaving.

  4. Try tourist jobs in Lappland. They have lots if foreign season workers. But a week is really too short.

  5. I dont know why you’re so attractive to this country with this shit economy, you may find job today and after month you get jobless again!!!

It’s better to go and start new life in new country that has future!

    All the best for you!

  6. Nah. Any of the hiring managers dont take any chances of getting someone in just before permits expires as to have any liability or the hassle. Much easier to take someone else, Sorry mate.

  7. Look for work outside the city you live in, anywhere in the country and move after it. You can’t wait for work in one place, not in this economy. You gotta move after it, and live with roommates so you can move out easier.

  8. Can’t you apply for a job seeking permit provided that you have competed your degree in Finland?
But honestly, I think your situation is very bad if you cannot afford a flight ticket (around €1000?). Iirc, you still need money to apply for a job seeking permit, around €7000 or something. If you haven’t applied for such permit yet, I would highly recommend going back to your country, find a job there and get some experience. Later in the future, you can apply to come back here.
