WANA (Nov 08) – The Iranian Embassy in Mexico has rejected recent allegations by the United States and Israel accusing Tehran of plotting an attack against the Israeli ambassador in Mexico City, describing the claims as “entirely false.”
In a statement, the embassy called the accusation of an Iranian attempt to assassinate Israel’s ambassador in Mexico “a major media fabrication aimed at damaging the friendly and historic relations between Iran and Mexico,” adding that Tehran “firmly rejects” the claim.
The statement emphasized that Iran and Mexico share common interests, noting that “the security and dignity of Mexico are the security and dignity of Iran.” It added, “We will never betray the trust that the Mexican government has placed in us.”
The embassy further stated: “We will never harm the good reputation of the Mexican people, our friends. Any betrayal of Mexico’s interests would be a betrayal of our own. Respect for Mexico’s laws remains our highest priority.”
The embassy also dismissed accusations of antisemitism against Iran, calling them “a major lie fabricated by the racist leaders of the Zionist regime.”
According to the statement, “There are more than 100 synagogues in Iran, all open to the public and requiring no security guards.”
The statement concluded by noting that during Israel’s aggression against Iran in June, “not a single case of verbal or physical harassment against the country’s large Jewish community was recorded.”
Earlier, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry also rejected the new U.S. and Israeli allegations against Iran, stating it had no information regarding any alleged attack on the Israeli ambassador.
According to a statement published on the Mexican Foreign Ministry’s official website, neither the ministry nor Mexico’s Interior Ministry has received any report suggesting that Iran was involved in an attempt to attack Israel’s ambassador, Einat Kranz-Neiger.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining open communication with all diplomatic missions in the country. In a separate statement, Mexico’s Interior Ministry said it remains ready to cooperate respectfully and in coordination with the security agencies of other countries, provided a formal request is made.
On Friday, both the U.S. government and Israel’s Foreign Ministry claimed — without providing evidence — that Iran had plotted to assassinate the Israeli ambassador in Mexico earlier this year, an operation they alleged began in late 2024 and was foiled in mid-2025 summer,
