WANA (Nov 08) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh described the recent 12-day aggressive war against Iran as a “real laboratory” for testing many flawed narratives that Israel and Iran’s opponents have long propagated through mainstream media to mislead public perception.

Khatibzadeh, who also serves as the head of the Institute for International Studies and Research of Iran (IPIS), delivered his remarks during a seminar titled “Examining the 12-Day War and Regional Outlook: Iran’s Perspective on Peaceful Cooperation” at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Tokyo.

Referring to the recent Israeli aggression, he called the attack a clear violation of international law. “Despite the absence of any evidence of nuclear weapons or diversion of Iran’s nuclear program, and while diplomatic negotiations were ongoing, why did Israel, in close cooperation with the United States, carry out this attack? The answer to this question clearly defines the responsibility of nations in responding to such aggressive actions,” Khatibzadeh stated.

Analyzing the motives behind the attack, he added, “Israel, driven by geopolitical illusions and expansionist ambitions, seeks to create strategic depth, extend its borders, and achieve regional supremacy across West Asia. This series of aggressions must be stopped by regional states and the international community.”

He further emphasized that the 12-day war served as a “real laboratory” for testing many flawed claims that Israel and Iran’s adversaries have long sold to public opinion via mainstream media. According to Khatibzadeh, the refutation of these narratives was achieved solely through the courageous defense by Iran and its people and an unprecedented display of national unity.
