Dreaming about swapping Miami’s beaches for a soothing dip in Iceland’s Sky Lagoon? Or how about our high rises for glacier-topped mountains? Well, Icelandair has introduced its first nonstop service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Keflavík International Airport (KEF), near Reykjavík.

Those previously looking to visit the northernmost capital in the world from Miami had to book multi-leg flights, with a layover in another city. Now, travelers can get there directly in just under eight hours!

As the capital of the Nordic country where vibrant culture meets majestic natural wonders, you won’t want to miss your chance to experience Reykjavík. Unwind in the mineral-rich waters of geothermal pools, stroll down the Skólavörðustígur Rainbow Street to find charming boutiques and eateries and even find yourself on a whale-watching tour.

If that’s not enough to help you map out your itinerary, it’s also one of the best cities in the world to see the aurora borealis dancing across the sky!

The Miami (MIA) to Keflavík (KEF) route departs three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays until May 3, 2026. Passengers will travel on an 187-passenger Airbus A321LR, the carrier’s newest aircraft.

With the launch of this new service, MIA becomes the only Florida airport with nonstop flights to all five sovereign countries in Scandinavia, and makes Reykjavík its 21st European destination.

“Miami is an exciting destination for Icelanders and other Europeans, and at the same time, we see great potential in promoting travel to Iceland and beyond to people in South Florida,” Icelandair president and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason said in a statement.

You can book your nonstop trip to the land of Northern lights, geysers, volcanoes, waterfalls and more on icelandair.com. An introductory fare of $549 is available now through March 29, 2026.

Additionally, connecting passengers can take advantage of the airline’s Stopover program, which allows them to stay in Iceland for up to a week at no additional cost before continuing to their final European destination. It’s the perfect holiday getaway, if you ask us!
