Inflation is the increase of prices vs your buying power. Saying the salaries have also increased is nonsense.
Example: Prices increase 2% and salary increase 2%, in this case, there is no inflation. When prices increase more than salaries is when we have inflation and consumers lose buying power. It doesn’t matter how much salaries are increased if the prices increase even more.
Salaries increase by 15% and prices increase by 20%, you are losing buying power. Inflation.
