The Avs start a back-to-back in Edmonton and have both goalies ready for the road trip. Also, Jakub Dobes has been great for the Habs, Macklin Celebrini lived out a dream, and Finland released its Olympic jerseys.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — November 8.

Colorado Hockey Now

We know Blackwood is going to play one of the two games this weekend, we just don’t know which one. I caught up with him on Friday before they departed for Edmonton. He was very thoughtful with his responses about where his game is and what he needs to get back into a rhythm.

Montreal Hockey Now: Jakub Dobes has been excellent in goal for Montreal this season. Here’s how his season looks by the numbers.

San Jose Hockey Now: Macklin Celebrini grew up a fan of Jonathan Toews. His game is very similar to the former Blackhawks captain. On Friday, Celebrini got to play against Toews for the first time. I’m sure that was really cool given how long Toews was away from the game when Celebrini was drafted. This probably felt like an uncertain reality for most of the last 18 months.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Tough news for Filip Hallander, who will be out for quite a while.
