Interdiscount hired someone that worked for Digitec in a management position.
He immediately had them keeping track of their own time, including when they went to the bathroom, how long they spent on each task. He asked why the women took longer at certain times of the month.
At the end of each day they had to explain why they spent as much time as they did away from the desk. EDIT: (more detail) For instance, if someone had to go and get something from a printer, he would shout at them. But they couldn’t move the printer. If someone had to go from RMA to logistics to work with the actual packages, he would shout at them. He would issue warnings for ‘wasting company time’ when people were just doing their jobs.
He refused to let someone go to the hospital when their kid had an accident at school.
He also implemented a policy that the people working in RMA had 30 seconds to complete each case.
He caused an entire department to quit.
EDIT: Removed link to dickhead in charge.
EDIT: Oh, and he also caused about 20% of his department to take time off for burn out within the first month.
Another EDIT: I’m told it was closer to 1/3.
I am shocked. Shocked!
No shit man! Keeping track on time in the bathroom?
DAFAQ?
Not surprised, they are trying to be the Swiss Amazon and are therefore also applying the same tactics. I’m just surprised that they actually can find workers who want to work for them.
Digitech is trying to compete in Germany with Amazon and I guess only one way to do it.
Unfortunately this is not so distant future for most companies as customers clearly mostly care about pricing.
People saying Migros selling alcohol would be against the philosophy of its creator really needs to look at what Migros does as a whole. It’s a shitshow from start to finish, from useless imported goods to sub companies exploiting workers.
The quicker we stop putting Migros and Coop on a pedestal and acknowledge they are no different than any other profit-maximizing conglomerat the better. Stop with that Migros and Coop child bs.
Really sad that this happens.
I’m not surprised but disappointed I admit. I can tell you that if the case went even to the press, there is something going on. Bigs don’t like their shit to go public
