People still use this theatre by the way. I’ve watched a theatrical play there once. The acoustics are phenomenal.

One of my pet peeves is when people call this type of theater an amphitheater, even though amphi- specifically refers to the seating being on both sides of the stage.
Must’ve felt peaceful to gather with hundreds of people just to watch the forest. A very different time.

Greeks: let’s find a suitable geographical location for our theater.
Romans: slaaaaaaves!!
Wonder how many seats are there?
To think that some people want to get rid of such things to replace them with residential buildings.
