  1. I like the idea in principle, although it’d need quite a bit of nuance. For example, if an off-lead chihuahua attacks an on-lead alsation, and the alsation bites it and kills it, that’s really the fault of the chihuahua’s owner.

The morality we normally apply to humans, can’t directly be applied to dogs. Killing in its self isn’t a moral wrong for dogs so responsibiity falls to the owners and that **isn’t always** the owner of the dog who killed. Rather it falls to the owner who wasn’t taking reasonable precautoins with their animal.

  2. It’s funny, if a dog can and killed my hamster this would be a criminal offence, if a cat didn’t, cat owners would just be saying it was natural instinct

  3. That’s not down to the owner, if they know they’re dog is aggressive it should be muzzled and leashed anyway.

  4. So if my neighbour decides to keep a pet rat and my cat does what nature intended it to do, I’m going to prison?

    This effectively outlaws keeping pets…

  5. Response: it already exists, we are now disregarding your petition, like every other petition.

  6. Literally no need to criminalize this. There is already protections in civil law for this under negligence.
