Archbishop Charles Scicluna signs book at Malta Book FestivalArchdiocese of Malta

Archbishop Charles Scicluna visited the Malta Book Festival on Sunday, marking the conclusion of the 2025 edition at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali, where he signed copies of his latest book of homilies, Kelma ta’ Ħabib.

The Archbishop’s appearance between 11am and noon highlighted the Archdiocese of Malta’s debut participation in the annual literary event, which featured a dedicated stand offering interactive, educational, spiritual, and cultural activities throughout the festival’s run.

The Archdiocese programme included an interactive Bible knowledge quiz organised by the Malta Bible Foundation, where participants could win Maltese editions of the Bible. Spiritual Development in Schools hosted sessions for children featuring storytelling aimed at inspiring curiosity, wisdom, hope, and gratitude, with young visitors invited to write prayers or questions to God on post-it notes placed on a bubble-filled tube symbolising thoughts rising to heaven.

Weekend activities included interactive Bible storytelling sessions tailored for different age groups, organised by the Malta Bible Foundation and the Diocesan Children’s Commission. Author Lara Fenech also conducted a reading session from her publication When I Grow Up: Heidi’s Show and Tell on Saturday.

The festival, organised by the National Book Council, concluded Sunday evening after five days of literary celebrations bringing together publishers, authors, and readers from across Malta. The Archdiocese’s maiden participation was described as an effort to bridge spiritual and cultural engagement through literature and interactive family-friendly programming.
