Sweden’s public broadcaster SVT is in full preparation mode for Melodifestivalen 2026, the spectacular show through which the country selects its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest each year. As always, the beloved competition promises a dazzling mix of new faces, diverse music genres, and unexpected collaborations.
So far, one entry is already standing out before even hitting the stage. According to exclusive information from Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, renowned rapper Fille Danza, real name Felipe Andres Leiva Wenger, will take part in this year’s contest, not as himself, but as his legendary alter ego Lilla Al-Fadji. The eccentric and satirical radio persona has long been a fan favorite in Sweden for his unique humor and sharp wit.
Even more intriguing is the fact that Lilla Al-Fadji’s song is co-written by Edward af Sillén, one of the most iconic figures in Sweden’s Eurovision history. Sillén, best known as a commentator, scriptwriter, and director for numerous Eurovision and Melodifestivalen shows, will make his debut as a songwriter in the competition.
The collaboration between Fille Danza and Edward af Sillén is already being described by Swedish media as “the festival’s most unexpected and groundbreaking entry.”
Beyond this surprising partnership, Aftonbladet also reveals several other names expected to make waves at Melodifestivalen 2026. Among them are A-Teens (Melodifestivalen 2024), Noll2, Brandsta City Släckers (Melodifestivalen 2002), Meira Omar (Melodifestivalen 2025), Jacqline Moss, and Alexa, the winner of the American Song Contest.
The official line-up announcement will take place on December 2nd.
