Everyone points to the same thing as Daily Mail asks: ‘Where have our GPs gone?’

  1. Perhaps it has been the systematic criticism and negative stories that the Daily Mail has been posting about the NHS and the GPs the past 5 years. But maybe it’s just because they want to work normal hours for slightly better money than a car salesman.

  2. Simple answer is that they are working from home. They’ve been told to phone patients and just randomly give you what you want according to what you say. You might as well just Google it and tell the GP what you need.

  3. Most are doing tele-appointments which in my experience has been great but could be worse for others.

A lot of GPs have cut back their hours as they have built up such a large pension pot that they cut back their hours to reduce their tax burden. Once your pension pot is more than £1.25m (which many GP exceed) the tax is quite high.
