France: Paris court to rule on Sarkozy’s release • FRANCE 24 English
3 weeks after the start of his imprisonment, will Nicholas Sarosi soon be leaving Lante prison? Monday, his request for release will be examined by the Paris Court of Appeal. According to the code, he can only be kept in detention if there’s a risk of reoffending, obsconding, or exerting pressure or colluding in a way that could prejudice the appeals proceedings. If the court grants his release, there are several options. You can either be released with what’s known as an electronic tag, which is quite rare while waiting on an appeal, or the most common option is what’s known as judicial supervision, which means that you’re released, but you have a number of obligations set by the court, which may include reporting to the police station closest to your home. It may also involve reporting regularly on where you live, your professional activities, and what you’re doing. The decision is expected on Monday. If the court gives the green light, his release could quickly follow.
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is set to learn the outcome of his appeal for release. Tomorrow, Monday, starting at 9:30 am, the Paris Court of Appeal will review the request submitted by his lawyers. What criteria will the court take into account, and in what form could his release be granted? Daniel Quinlan reports.

It’s a farce – they just being vengeful & wants to humiliate him. What about a large fine – if found guilty?
If Sarkozy was a normal French man he would be imprisoned for a long time! He’s using his privilege to escape the harsh realities of his sentence!
Leave him alone, he already did his time as President of France.
That would be a very quick release.
Let's make sure the only people who are never punished for crimes are the richest and most powerful. That'll make sure the system works!
No way…. Make Macron his roommate instead..
