I’m a little bit conflicted about this, it’s great that the children are here but as the article says the charity failed to notify Tusla that 90 unaccompanied children would be landing in the country. There was someone on morning ireland who said this arrival constitutes half of the number of unaccompanied minors who have arrived since the war began – all arrived in one day. I don’t understand how the charity spent all the time organising this, yet failed to follow the basic safeguarding requirement of notifying Tusla. They’re all in hotels now, with some notice something better might have been set up for them.
