  2. the democratic party is a joke. they are getting nothing for holding out and looking like fools.

the only strategy Democrats is to stand by their healthcare demands or let it burn so when elections come up the entire fucking country goes blue. people will not forget this.

Schumer is a joke and needs to go!

  3. Doesn’t this also require the House of Representatives to pass it as well?

  4. Democrats are caving. It’s what they do best.

  5. A group of centrist Democrats led by Sens. Angus King (Maine), an independent who caucuses with Democrats, and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.). and Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), negotiated the deal to reopen government with Republicans on the Senate Appropriations Committee led by Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and the Senate GOP leadership.

King said it became increasingly clear that Republicans were not going to agree to a deal to reopen the government and extend enhanced health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act that are due to expire in January.

King says there’s still a “chance” the subsidies will be renewed because Thune has promised as part of the deal to give Democrats a vote on the ACA subsidies in November.

“Part of the deal is a vote on the ACA subsidies,” he said.

I would like to ask this fucking idiot King, what on earth makes him think that a vote on the ACA subsidies in November has any fucking chance of getting passed ? It’s dead on arrival, if republicans are willing for keep the government shut down for 40+ days instead of even negotiating that part, why would your dumb ass think that it will pass a vote at a later date?

    Fucking sell out.

The bill still needs to pass the House, which hasn’t voted since Sept. 19.

The house vote is the only thing keeping hope alive for 15 million people who will become uninsured due to cuts in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace and 7.5 million people who will lose Medicaid coverage because of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”.

  6. Just stop it you fuckers.

You do this every goddamn time.

  7. Doesn’t sound like a win for the Democrats. I’m find with keeping the government closed until trump leaves office.

  8. >King and Hassan played a key role in getting Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) to promise a vote this year on extending enhanced health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that are due to expire at the end of the year.

    >King said “the length of the shutdown” persuaded Democrats to support the deal, many elements of which had been on the negotiating table for weeks.

    >He said it became increasingly clear that Republicans were not going to agree to a deal to reopen the government and extend enhanced health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act that are due to expire in January.

    >King says there’s still a “chance” the subsidies will be renewed because Thune has promised as part of the deal to give Democrats a vote on the ACA subsidies in November.

So all they got was a promise of a vote? And then Republicans go “lol wat no”

  9. Timeline for anyone not paying attention –

Thursday – blue tsunami. Voters flip deep red districts.

Friday – FAA announces flight cancellations

Saturday – weekend session where Democratic caucus pick “safe” members unaffected by upcoming midterms

Sunday – democrats announce a deal to end shutdown. Deal is revealed to be nothing less than complete and utter surrender, no terms.

  10. This makes me want to vomit. Like the Republicans would ever do a single thing in good faith

  11. Well…we know who to blame when everyone’s insurance triples. Good job

  12. Good. Epstein files now!! Bunch of fucking pedophilic geriatric fuck wads need to face consequences

  13. Speaker Johnson in the House may have other ideas. One never knows.

  14. Dem lost a Supreme Court Justice the same way.
    Recall them all.
