Thanks for reminding me that Flåmsbana is still on my bucket list.
Beautiful. Would be great to have a winter pic alongside.
Fairyland
Scary to think about flooding. Especially with that name😂
Flood= flom=flåm
You know that feeling when you see a picture on your Reddit feed, but you haven’t yet checked if it comes from r/Europe, or r/Minecraft, or from r/CitiesSkylines… yeah, exactly that!
Flåm is an extreme tourist machine. Dont go there unless you wanna take Flåmsbana, which is also has bloated tourist prices. I feel bad for the people visiting getting their wallets gutted.
There are many places to travel in the area which are just as nice, but more authentic, like Hardangerfjorden.
I went there a few years ago to go up to Mydal and cycle down the old construction road. Great fun even though it was chucking it down. Like others have mentioned it’s super busy, and there was a huge cruise ship docked so this seemingly tiny town was packed.
So pretty, right up to the moment when it’s all under 6′ of water.
Nice Flåm, Fåm
Whats with all the red houses in Norway
Do we get a color saturation boost if we visit?
Haha, I went through there on my motorbike! I was doing a trip around the entire EU in 2020! Norway was really amazing and scenic. This photo honestly doesn’t do it justice.

Where the delicious smoked salmon comes from! 😋
*Much* nicer than the neighboring Flïm.
Looks like a model town
