Tigers tripped up by Pine-Richland/Hampton

The North Allegheny inline Tigers suffered a loss to the Pine-Richland/Hampton Rams by a score of 5-3 on Sunday at the RMU Island Sports Center.

The first period saw multiple penalties by both teams but it was the Rams who took advantage and scored the power play goal taking the lead at 1-0.

In the second period, the Tigers battled back and logged a goal from senior Matthew Noffsinger assisted by junior Christian Mark. The Tigers added to their lead with a power play goal from junior Liam Huey assisted by Mark to close out the second frame leading 2-1.

The third period began with Pine Richland/Hampton opening the scoring and tying the game at 2-2. The Tigers responded less than a minute later regaining the lead with a goal from Noffsinger assisted by senior Stefan Craig. Unfortunately, the Rams would once again take advantage of an NA penalty and tie the game at 3-3. The Rams also notched the final two goals of the third period, ending the game with a 5-3 Tiger loss.

Despite his best efforts in the net, sophomore goalie Travis Herm suffered the loss as the Tigers record fell to 4-5. The Tigers will resume play next Sunday at 10:00 AM against the Penn-Trafford Warriors at the RMU Island Sports Center.
