In one of Vilnius cafès I spotted this mini TV. After googling name of it, I found such TVs were made in Kaunas.
Were these mini TVs big thing in Lithuania?

Yes, they were among more affordable TV options when I was growing up in the 90s and early 00s. Portable, as long as you have an electric outlet and with a built in antenna, you could catch all analog channels that were in range. Now I don’t know if there was a colour version as I only had a mono decoder version at home, that sat on the kitchen counter most of the time. Used to connect bootleg NES consoles and play on them as the console “would damage the family TV”, well, at least that’s what my parents believed in. Reliable, small device but to be honest, I don’t feel nostalgic enough to ever come back to that small screen anytime soon, I’d rather stick to modern solutions, thanks 😄
Those were B&W, quite terrible, but some of the best options available. Cost about 300litas (divide it by 4 to get a rough estimation in USD) in aprox 1995
From what I heard, they were popular. Not this exact model, but my family had one and it was placed in our kitchen on the fridge around 2000s.
I had it as a replacement TV around 2006 when we moved into the new place, I remember vividly watching some chat shows on summer evenings in my room, good times
Yes, it’s surely was a big thing in Lithuania. Now this brand name also got new look novadays see here: [Šilelis](https://silelis.com/en/about/)
Had two of these. Different model, i had 405D.
They came in yellow?!?!?!?!?
We had a bigger one and dark gray (or maybe it was the same dimensions, but screen was taking more space in the front and less or smaller controls). My parents got it i think in a lottery at a factory. For some time it was a secondary TV in mine and my brother’s room, sitting on a desk by the bed. I remember watching some movies, Bushido fights, TV series, music channels and occasionally when messing with its antena and scrolling through available frequencies we would catch someone in our flat apartment playing on their NES or Sega. Signal was bad, but you can still see what they were playing. That was super cool finding for us kids as we didn’t have a gaming console then, but thinking back it was kind of a privacy problem. Of course, it was only gaming. I guess we were first “Twitch” stream viewers ~30 years ago 😀 Later when our main TV broke down for some time it was the only TV we had and it moved to the living room. You had to sit really close to watch anything. But then you didn’t have to have high volume and could sneakily watch movies during night. I don’t remember whether it was still on Šilelis, but i do remember watching American Pie secretly from my parents around that time 😀 I think later when we bought a new TV my father gave it away to a friend who was dealing with electronics, old TVs, etc.
