On Motzei Shabbos, the Rebbe’s Shluchim serving in Tel Aviv–Yafo gathered for their annual Kinus Hashluchim and Melave Malka, which this year was upgraded into an especially uplifting evening filled with inspiration and renewed motivation in preparation for next week’s International Kinus Hashluchim in New York.

The evening was once again masterfully hosted by Rabbi Mendy Gerlitzky, Shliach to Tel Aviv’s New North neighborhoods, who infused the gathering with warmth and unity characteristic of the Tel Aviv Shluchim.

As is the custom in Tel Aviv, under the leadership of Head Shliach Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzky, new Shluchim are always given the honor of opening the program. This year, the first speaker was Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Tamam, the newest Shliach to Yafo, who recently opened a new Chabad House there. He shared a Chassidic story and words of Torah to set the tone for the evening.

Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzky spoke about the great importance of such gatherings, emphasizing the special role of the Tel Aviv Kinus and the remarkable spiritual transformation taking place in the city over the past year. He encouraged the Shluchim not to be satisfied with general outreach and Torah classes alone, but to work with all their strength to “make Chassidim for the Rebbe” — to inspire every Jew they meet to become a source of light themselves.

The theme of this year’s Kinus focused on strengthening and expanding the network of “Tiferes Zekeinim Levi Yitzchak” Kollels, in accordance with the Rebbe’s directive. Several successful branches are already operating throughout Tel Aviv. Rabbi Shaul Raitzes, Shliach to Central Tel Aviv and Rosh Yeshiva of Chabad Yeshiva Chazon Eliyahu, was invited to speak on the topic, inspiring the audience with heartfelt words.

The keynote address was delivered by guest speaker Rabbi Shalom Duchman, Director of Colel Chabad in Israel. In a deeply moving talk, Rabbi Duchman shared remarkable personal stories illustrating the Rebbe’s unique care and attention for every Shliach and every detail of their work. He quoted from dozens of rare letters and answers he personally received from the Rebbe, leaving a powerful impression on all present. His words concluded with spirited dancing, as all the Shluchim joined in joyous song, celebrating the privilege of being the Rebbe’s emissaries.

At the close of the event, Rabbi Yosef Gerlitzky presented gifts to each Shliach and their families, expressing gratitude to the organizers — Rabbis Yitzchak Beer, Levi Gerlitzky, and Yitzchak Levkivker — as well as all the dedicated staff and volunteers of Chabad Tel Aviv for their efforts on behalf of the city’s Shluchim.
