#Police use controversial AI program.
Swedish police are collaborating with the controversial AI company Palantir, reports the newspaper ETC
According to the newspaper, the Swedish police have been using the American AI company Palantir’s Gotham program for five years.
The program, which in Swedish has been named Acus, uses artificial intelligence to compile and analyze large amounts of information.
According to ETC, this involves sensitive personal data from intelligence and criminal records as well as information from Bank ID, mobile operators and social media accounts.
##“Hush-hush”
>There was a lot of hush-hush around that program, an anonymous former police analyst tells ETC.
In both the UK and Germany, the police’s use of Palantir has created debate. In Sweden, its use has gone under the radar.
The police authority does not want to answer any of ETC’s questions about Palantir, but writes that it can neither “confirm nor deny relations with Palantir” due to “danger to national security”.
##Cooperation with Israel
The authority therefore does not want to answer questions about how many Swedes are monitored in the system or whether the data is stored in the American company’s cloud.
Palantir, which also makes combat command software, has previously been criticized for working closely with Israel and has been accused by the UN of violating international law and human rights in Gaza. The company has rejected the criticism.
The capitalist is a thief — of your life and chance to flourish — and obsesses over what he has stolen. Is he haunted by guilt? Who knows but he certainly is aware that what was stolen can be taken back. He won’t rest until you are completely tied down, completely mapped, and even then will only manage to nap for short bursts. He knows what pushback his application of force invites, knows that he is forever setting a precedent for a power struggle by always exerting his power. He could sleep through the night by forgoing greedy grasping but, tragically, is going to have to be pushed into the volcano before he gives up the ring. They even use the names of Tolkien megavillains lol, they could not be clearer about their commitment to pressing on with the social crimes.
The capitalist reminds me of Geoff Woade in the Withnail film:
>I: Please, I don’t feel good.
>Withnail: That’s what you’d say, but that wouldn’t wash with Geoff. No, he’d like a bit of pleading. Add spice to it. In fact, he’d probably tell you what he was going to do before he did it. “I’m going to pull your head off.” “Oh no, please, don’t pull my head off.” “I’m going to pull your head off, because I don’t like your head.”
