Trump’s energy secretary slams UN COP30 climate conference in Brazil, where US absence is glaring. Dimwit Chris Wright — a former fossil fuel executive who has been a leading voice against efforts to fight climate change — says “It’s essentially a hoax.”

1. He’s not the dimwit. He’s getting paid handsomely to say that. We all need to figure out who the dimwits are. And if you can’t, it’s probably you.

2. Wright and Trump are busy setting the US backwards by at least a decade.

   When the US runs out of cheap gas, their electricity prices are going spiral hard, because they’re sabotaging investment in new solar and wind.

   And they are doing the two exact things that will cause the cheap gas to disappear faster: mindless demand growth to serve the AI bubble & datacentres; and building more LNG export terminals and pipelines to them.

   I would not want to be a US electricity consumer five years from now.

3. That hoax is going to help countries move to cheaper cleaner sources of energy and reduce their depending on external sources. May not be the sole reason but it helps them push what they see as the future.

   Not being a part of that transition is not going to stop it from happening. It is in the interest of national defense for some countries and that alone will drive it. Also, there is huge money to be made.

   The current admin will put the US behind. Unfortunately
