I imagine hes revered in countries which also overthrew their monarchies
Despite never experiencing communism at the national level, plenty of regional, provincial, and city councils in Italy had communist majorities and communist governors or mayors. For example, the Emilia-Romagna region has probably never been led by a right-wing governor, and my town itself has been led multiple times by a communist mayor. Having said that, it never reached the shit-hole level of eastern european communism because we weren’t a shithole (and because we were going to be Chiled by CIA a couple of times).
Edit: and in general we have a lot of important people statues or street names, in my town there’s Karl Marx Square (right in front of the former “house of Fascio” building), Palmiro Togliatti Road, but also Kennedy road and similar. Still haven’t reached the Bologna level with Stalingrad Road
the way westoids got brainwashed by soviet/communism propaganda should be studied
We had communism though. What we didn’t had was a communist dictatorship.
The host countries seem to have developed an allergic reaction
You forgot to include a picture of Russians tearing down statues of Lenin
The Lenin monument pictured in Germany is located in Gelsenkirchen on the private grounds of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany; it is not a public monument.
They have never received more than 1% of the vote in elections.
Least Lenin statues per capita. Who is a big boy now?
It’s not surprising that a lot of young Westerners turn towards s*cialism or c*mmunism when subs like r/USSR exist.
Apparently it’s easier to become a tankie if you’ve never experienced communism.
Eurocommunism is based, Marxist-Leninist are just totalitarian bootlickers.
What did Lenin ever do?
Western communist…
They basically had wet dreams of wishing to get liberated by the mighty Red Army instead of filthy rotting capitalist pig that were the British/Americans
Thank god they never rose to power
strange how the two best run regions in Italy (Tuscany and Emilia Romagna) were traditionally the most strongly communist (similarly in India the most prosperous state is the commie run Kerala)
The fuck you mean we have a Lenin statue in France ?
How ? Why ?
I know that Karl Marx is buried in Highgate Cemetery in London and there’s a monument to him there.
Lenin died too young
Amateurs, we’ve found a much better way to gather triggered commies in one spot and give police an excuse to beat them up.
Amateurs. Not only do we have a Marx statue, but underneath it we also have a real Marx too.
Germany (west) is a bad example because to this day east Germany is more leftist than the west on average especially in cities and ESPECIALLY east berlun
