I was off work early tonight. While letting the car warm up, I checked my phone and saw entries on social media that a major outbreak of the Aurora Borealis was underway. When I was under dark skies, I could see that there was a vivid red glow in the north-northwest sky. I pulled off Interstate 74 south of Shelbyville, Indiana and drove to a rural road to get outside and look at the display. This is a (pretty bad) cell phone image of the red flare I saw. Amazing! 10:18 PM EST on Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025.
I’ll be adding a lot more to this blog soon, for anyone interested. I am having lots of concerns about my local stream water quality in far southeast Indianapolis right now, and I will elaborate later. Thanks for checking me out.
