  1. Having actually read the article (crazy i know), the title is editorialised. Heres what the report actually says

    The IEA found that in all of the scenarios it modelled that renewables would grow faster than any other major energy source, led by a surge in cheap solar power across regions including the Middle East and Asia, which have abundant sunshine.

    What it absolutely does not say is that any of the IEAs scenarios have little to no role for fossil fuels out to the 10 to 15 year mark. All of them do, and in most cases that role is growing in absolute terms not shrinking, at least for power.

  2. Really wish people would stop using images of concentrated solar for renewables. 

  3. I just read another IEA title that claimed oil use going to increase 13% through 2050 from 2024 levels is this the same report lol? I’ll have to read it later
