The United States and Israel have strongly denied a recent report by Saudi Arabia’s Al Arabiya channel claiming that Yasser Abu Shabab, described as the leader of an anti-Hamas militia in Gaza, met with Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, at an American facility in Kiryat Gat.
According to the Saudi report, Abu Shabab’s group was said to be “responsible for ensuring the safe passage of Hamas members located within areas under Israeli control.”
However, a US official swiftly dismissed the claims in full, saying: “This report is false. No such meeting took place.”
While there was no official Israeli statement directly responding to the denial, sources close to the Israeli government confirmed the US rejection of the report.
