Verplichte vaccinatie voor het eerst op tafel

  1. it is so sad people still do not want the vaccine.
Believing in conspiracy stuff or the already debunked possible negative effects in the long term.

I do have compassion for those people though, it is not easy from their point of view.

  2. Considering what’s happening in Austria right now, this does seem like the lesser of both evils. I just wish people would do it of their own volition, rather than us having to resort to making it mandatory.
Either way, I hope this brings us closer to normality; though realistically that will only be in the spring/summer of next year.

  3. “De GEMS heeft het dan bijvoorbeeld over contactsporten en studentenactiviteiten. Voor die indooractiviteiten stellen de experts een “opschorting” voor van 3 à 4 weken. Daarna zou de coronapas enkel nog geldig zijn voor gevaccineerden of mensen die genezen zijn na een besmetting. Er zou ook getest moeten worden bij het binnengaan.

This is insanity; ok, you want to only allow close contact sports for vaccinated people. Fine by me; but expect testing EVERY time you go to training?

  4. Thanks, HLN. Not seeing this headline on any reputable newspapers though so I’ll take it with a mountain of salt.

  5. Enfin…

I still cannot understand why they chose this indirect way that is the CST instead of making the vaccination mandatory

  6. At what stage is this government now the winter of freedom? the spring of Liberation?

Still waiting on the first good decision since this pandemic started.

  7. Some anecdotes from my daily life:

Some colleagues of mine dont want to get vaxxed because they think the graphene oxide or smth can be triggered by radiation signals and either kill us or make us mindless drones…

One of them got hysterical because his sister was pregnant and got the vaccine and he was crying and saying he is praying hard the baby doesnt die from vaccine….

Among them we have ppl who listen to Thierry Baudet en DVL and sympathize with them eventhough they have a leftist/socialist background, they mean to vote Vlaams belang because “only Vlaams Belang speaks out against vax”…

They, not surprisingly, get most of their “info” from facebook groups, alt-social media, and the Vlaams Belang app…

They call out ppl who are vaxxed to be sheeps and blindly follow mainstream media and dismiss any scientifically proved fact as biased. And they listen to “doctors” and “nurses” who are anti-vax… and surprisngly those people are americans.

Also; they really dont know how vaccine works… when i told them that they probably got vaccinated for several stuff when they were babies/toddlers, they dont believe me.

  9. Just mandate the vaccine already with medical exceptions.
If it is really needed, they’d do it. I’ll be the first one in line to get the shot.

  10. With the current variants around, will there be less then 500 people in ICU if everybody who is eligible is vaccinated and the measures are equal to the ones on October 1st? If there are going to be more then 500, I just want to know. Then I can adjust my expectations.

  11. This is stupid, here is why:

    – There is doubt that the vaccines significantly stop spread of COVID. I believe the consensus is “somewhat or a little bit”. This is shared within GEMS because they are considering having tests done for vaccinated people as well.

    – Young people who don’t have co-morbidities are so low risk that they are hardly represented with the demographics in hospitals.

    – Also, young people are more likely to have rare adverse effects due to how strong their immune system can react to the vaccine.

What are the advantages of imposing mandatory vaccinations to these young age groups when 1) they still can be infectious and 2) don’t really need it, they are not putting pressure on hospitals and 3) are more likely to have a rare adverse effect.

I could see the advantages of having mandatory vaccinations from 35+
