The supermarket chain’s store on Shotton High Street closed its doors last summer, and the unit was placed up for sale.

Before it was due to go up for auction, it was bought for an undisclosed price, property company Savills confirmed.

And the company which bought the shop can be revealed as In2moto – motorcycle and scooter dealer.

The company, which has an existing store in Warrington, will soon be opening a shop in Shotton – its first in North Wales.

Colin Mulligan, who will manage the upcoming Deeside store, said: “We’re really excited to be opening in Deeside. North Wales is a hot-bed for motorcyclists and it’s brilliant to be finally opening a store here – it’s been a long-time coming.

“We’ve been waiting for the right opportunity, and this is it. The store is a perfect size.

“All being well the first half of the store will be open before Christmas. It’s a bit more of a project upstairs.”

He added: “We’ve been in the store this week and everyone who’s popped in to ask what’s happening has been so enthusiastic and supportive when we tell them who we are.

“We can’t wait to welcome people in with open arms.”
