Stumbled across this on twitter, no explanation to it. I can see it is Finnish, and I think it relates to russia. Anyone willing to translate/help out a bit?

The red lines are the years Russia has been at war of some kind against Finland, or like during the Isoviha terrorizing Finland for years and killing up to 90% in some areas. It basically says that they have always done it but stubbornly Finns have carved their own path, calling it the “Finnish Cause”.
Someone can do a full translation, just gave a quick “synopsis” of what is about. Every 7 years of peace has been met with one year of war since 1100, that is the ratio up to that date, ~14% of our history Russia has been attacking us.. and still we are here.
edit: oh, the title:
“We have curbed the East before, we must curb them now” (quite literally the meaning of ‘curb’ in Finnish in this context is ‘curb your enthusiasm’, to rob them from their motivation and drive, generally it means to calm things down, ‘hillitty’ as an adjective means modest, well behaved, calm)
