I am sure he was complaining about gang problem and bad "migrants" in his whole career. Approaching barely legal girls, carrying gun drunk, talking gang bullshits. I am sure far right was proud of him. Lol.

    – got near blackout drunk,
    – escalated an interaction with some guy to a wrestling match,
    – escalated to shove them to fall back and hit their head,
    – got aggravated by a joking reply of “yeah right and I own the drug cartels with my midget overlord” when his “Don’t you know who I am? I’m an ombudsman” (Finnish version of senator) boasting wasn’t taken seriously, and
    – escalated the situation to pull out a gun outside the bar and shoot, when the other party looked like they were about to walk away (video shows the other guy’s friend pulling him back in a “c’mon let’s go” fashion).

    Vornanen’s defense was a “I have been a police for 30 years, and this was the most dangerous life threatening situation I have been in during my career. The organized crime syndicate of Finland threatened to kill me and my family, and the guy was about to jump me, so I had no option but to shoot.”

    He claimed that his (estimated 6-9) drinks did not affect his judgement to handle a gun safely, he was the party in the conflict attempting to constantly de-escalate, and that he was left with no other options but to shoot.

    He tried to call 112 (Finnish version of 911), but was too drunk and unable to speak out in the phone what kind of life threats he had received, when prompted by an operator.

    Still, claimed no lapse in the ability to handle a gun, as he has 30 years in the police force.

    Reading the court transcripts, it seems he was the most pissed by the other guy jumping in between his attempt to pick up two 20 year old girls.
