  1. Well imperial is originally British (the clue is in the name) so the fact we use both isn’t really that confusing, what’s weird is the US still using it when they rejected the empire

  2. I have never used kilos for bananas in my life, you measure bananas in units of banana.

  3. Drive using MPG, despite fuel being sold by the litre. That’s my favourite oxymoron.

  4. Can I have 2 lbs of potatoes please?

    Sorry, we only do Kgs

Ok, can I have 2 lbs of Kgs then

  5. Well it’d be no good picking 1 and only pissing off the Euros *or* the Yanks, now would it?

  6. Only height I use imperial. Everything else is metric. I find metric easier.

  7. Even worse you confused, when measuring your house, a device that records your electricity use (a meter) and the SI unit of length a metre.

  8. Fun fact: Americans don’t use Imperial.

They use US Customary Measures. It’s mostly the same names as imperial, but with different measurements.
Like, a US Pint is 473ml, an Imperial pint is 568ml.
You know what that means – Those bloody yanks are under-serving beer by 15%… and yet they’re still somehow bladdered after only having 2 ‘pints’ that’re weaker than an Irishmans piss!

  9. AFAIK, most people of his age would use cm for their height and kg for their weight. I don’t because im old but it’s been taught in schools and used in the nhs for ages.

  10. This is the kind of meme we need in this group after all the political ones

  11. This is fucking nonsense, no-one knows what a banana weighs you buy them per number of bananas and pay whatever the scale tells you to.
