From Julian Tuwim, Polish-Jewish poet, about what it means to be a Pole

  1. While I’m not Polish-Jewish, just Polish – here a text from Polish-Jewish poet Julian Tuwim about what it meant to be a Pole. It highly resonated with me, so I think it would be neat to share this here.

  2. The most amazing fact is that – in my opinion – nothing has changed in this approach – We’ve got multiple polish movies, polish books, and polish people who immerse into this mentality. For me, it’s the truest experience of being a Pole, because being a Pole is being melancholic, maybe even nostalgic, and with this “it is what it is” mood. Soo resonating!

  3. Compared to other “patriotic” personas of our country, Tuwim was more of a Pole than they were combined together. Because he loved his Promised Land unconditionally.
