  1. IMO, AOC takin’ on Schumer would be a game-changer, dude. Dude’s been in office since before I was even born, LOL. It’s high time for fresh energy, bold ideas, y’know? So yeah, I’m all for that disruption.

  2. Honestly… she’s been mostly consistent in her stances AND she’s under 60. Low bar, but here we are.

  3. Would she have to give up her seat in the house to run for senate?

  4. If I were a NY resident, at this point I would nominate my old Halloween pumpkin to replace Schumer. Even by the time we get to 2028 it would *still* be a preferable choice.

  5. Schumer should be begging her to run for POTUS then

  6. AOC needs a bigger soapbox. I think she should go for it.

  7. It might be an eye-opening experience for AOC to try to win a statewide election rather than just the 14th Congressional District.

If you’re running for state office, you’re going to have to appeal to a wider range of more diverse voters across the whole state, even in a solid Blue state like NY.

  8. Schumer has been a has been for 12 years riding the coat tails of whoever’s a$$ he could kiss the quietest and still not end up with stink breath. He keeps exposing himself as the weakest leader ever and HE is personally holding the Democratic Party back

  9. Get the Zionists and Israel supporter out of government. This is a great start.

  10. Schumer is 75 and been a senator for 26 years; if he had any grace he would stand down. Unfortunately Biden and Pelosi have not been good examples for Democrats and they now need to bring in the next generation of politicians

  11. I’d prefer her there than some dumb white house bid.

Where’s the next ‘Master of the Senate’. After seeing what McConnell was able to do to this country, I’d prefer her there wielding similar but opposing power..

  12. I’ve seen some AOC for president posts, amd honestly I don’t hate that, I’d vote for her. I’m not convinced she’d win that race though… sure are a lot of racists and misogynists in this country.

Taking Shumer’s senate spot seems like a obvious move. I can’t see her losing that race*.

*I am not a political expert. Far from it, in fact.

  13. I don’t know, to me she seems wasted in that role. She would have to make compromises on several stances, to bring heads together.

Her strongest point instead is the ability to speak strong and clear, and put her positions forward no matter how radical they may look like in the current political environment. If you lose AOC in that role, you basically have no one effective enough to replace her.

  14. My guess is Schumer announces his retirement after the 2026 midterms. AOC might have an uphill battle to be the junior Senator from New York. She’ll need to not be toxic to the centrist/conservative areas of the state to win an open primary.

  15. Chuck will be almost 80 when his term ends. It’s more likely he will retire and there be an open primary.

  16. MUCH better and more realistic plan than president.

  17. Yes! We are not ready as a country for her to run for president. But Senator? Heck yes, get that dinosaur out of office already!

  18. He’s not running in 2028. There will be no challenge.

  19. I don’t think she will have a chance to primary Schumer. Schumer isn’t running again, you can tell he’s phoned it in

  20. The writing is on the wall for Schumer. This isn’t really even news this is expected. He will almost certainly announce his retirement 2027

  21. Somebody’s gotta do it. These old ass politicians move on kicking and screaming.

  22. AOC should. Schumer isn’t helping the American people. I’m even becoming skeptical of Hakeem Jeffries. We need people that are going to fight for us. Just saying.

  23. She will run and she will win the primary easily – Schumer is toast – his party outright hates him right now. She would be the favorite in the general election against a moderate republican. Against a maga republican, she’d win in a rout.

  24. Yes. I’m ready to donate right now. Run this.

  25. It is high time to retire the old guard.

The dems in particular have gerontocracy problem. They should strive to be the party forward-looking party with fresh ideas

  26. DO IT AOC. Get these fucking losers out of leadership. These old shits need to retire or be forced out, fucking useless.

  27. Do it. Schumer needs to go. He’s never been about progress. He’s only ever been about stagnation and maintaining the status quo for his corporate overlords.

  28. OK, I’ll be the downvote magnet.

For those commenting – if you do not live in NY, you may want to visit and talk to people in the entire State – not just Manhattan – which is what most non-new Yorkers think NY is due to media coverage.

Head to Cooperstown, Little Falls, Elmira, the Adirondacks …. eastern Nassau, Suffolk County… you know, the RED areas of NY. The Staten Islands of NY State.

Ask people about Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez in those areas – she’ll be going up against basically maga. The Senate race is not won or lost only by the City of New York.

Can she run, absolutely. But is she a shoo-in? You’ll know if you’re a New Yorker who doesn’t just live on Reddit.

  29. I guess we’ll all find out if AOC is really as left as she promotes herself

  30. F being Senator. She’d make a great President.

    Edit. Fat thumbs

  31. Is there a single person that even supports Schumer anymore? I mean except for the Bailey’s of course.
