In the race to embed artificial intelligence (AI) into business strategy, it’s no longer enough to ask whether AI should be adopted, the question now is how. On Monday, December 1 at 1 p.m. ET, Newsweek will host “How AI Is Reshaping Business,” a conversation with two insiders who bring clear vantage points to that question.
Register here for “How AI Is Reshaping Business” with Gopi Kallayil and Suraj Srinivasan.
Gopi Kallayil, chief business strategist for AI at Google, works with C-suites across industries as they rethink how AI can shape core operations and customer experience. Suraj Srinivasan, the Philip J. Stomberg Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and a member of the Newsweek Advisory Board, focuses on how AI is changing corporate governance, performance and decision-making. Both are deeply engaged with senior leadership teams grappling with the pressures, risks and opportunities emerging as AI moves from experimentation to execution.
Srinivasan has spent the past several years researching how artificial intelligence is transforming business, including its impact on digital performance, governance and adoption strategies across industries. In a discussion, he noted that “in the last few years, we have seen data create immense value for organizations,” and that “Generative AI is turbocharging it now by making creation of insights, software, and design ubiquitous.”
Kallayil brings the operator’s view from inside Google, where he has spent more than a decade helping global companies adopt successive waves of digital tools. He has called AI “the most profound technology ever created by human beings,” a description rooted in his work helping enterprises transform customer experience and large-scale processes.
Both speakers also bring deep governance experience. Srinivasan works closely with corporate directors and leads several of Harvard’s board programs, focusing on how boards oversee AI, risk and performance. Kallayil has advised global companies on applying AI to major operational and customer-facing challenges and on the practical realities of AI adoption at scale.
Across their work, a common theme emerges: many organizations need to update internal capabilities and redesign processes to fully capture AI’s value, rather than layering new systems onto outdated structures.
Their conversation will explore where AI is delivering tangible business value, where expectations still outpace reality and how leadership priorities are shifting as AI becomes a foundational capability.
For executives trying to separate signal from noise, this discussion offers a grounded look at the decisions and pressures shaping AI adoption across industries and what comes next as the technology continues moving deeper into the core of business.
