As part of the Dante Society of Westerly’s 50th anniversary celebration the society presented a free special talk with Arnaldo Minuti – Consul General of Italy – at the United Theatre on Friday, November 7, 2025. Dante Society president Lou Toscano and event chairman Edward Morrone served as co-ceremony masters. Minuti spoke about his career, Italian American relations, and Italian immigration past and present. Minuti is the Consul General of Italy in Boston. A career diplomat, he has served in senior roles at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Head of the Office for International Cooperation against Global Threats and Counterterrorism. His postings abroad have included Ethiopia, Canada, Mexico, and Paris, where he was Deputy Permanent Representative of Italy to UNESCO. Harold Hanka, Special to the Sun
