A warning has been issued for the UK as the aftermath of Storm Claudia continues, with more rain and flooding expected across much of England and Wales today.

Wales has issued four severe flood warnings, meaning there is a significant risk to life and significant disruption (to traffic or power) is expected to the community.

Rescue teams are working alongside Gwent Police, Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (WAST), SARA, the Coastguard and neighbouring fire and rescue services to carry out checks, evacuations or rescues.

According to the Met Office, scattered showers and drizzle will continue across England and Wales, while Northern Ireland and Scotland can expect drier conditions and perhaps even some sunny spells.

More than 90 flood warnings – meaning flooding is expected – were in effect this morning, according to the Environment Agency.
