I can’t even see how he could sue the BBC given the period for him to bring a case has already expired in the UK, and it was never once aired in the US.

For a video clip that wasn’t shown in america, that he didn’t even know about until a couple weeks ago.
Thing is, it doesn’t really matter about the facts in law. If it was about facts, he’d lose.
Every lawyer, every judge, every jury member (American defamation lawsuits have juries), can be pressured by trump and his goons.
How’s he going to show harm when he didn’t know it had happened?
That is essentially the British public he is trying to get. This and the trade war to try and decrease sales of British goods in his country, whilst American goods and shops are all over our high streets, not to mention Uber and other companies taking money away from the British economy. Perhaps we need to start a boycott just like Canadians are doing.

He is a bully – and will attack regardless. This has played right into his hands and he will milk it for all its worth.
He can certainly also make life difficult for the BBC in America. I would be surprised if we see sanctions and restrictions placed on the BBC.
