1. A lot of anti-net zero critique totally overlooks the ‘new for old’ factor, also – in the uk, we haven’t done any new FF power since the 90’s so alternative LCOE are speculative.

5. At this point coal only makes sense if we’re in a long period of no sun or wind or there is a down turn of it – such as during the winter. I think the current opts just doesnt play nice with other power generation as the main 24/7 anymore – as to say, it needs to work as flexable as renewables are – OR we need to build more storage. More storage to me is the correct answer as it opens the door for all power generations to have a hand in it, but also, reduces the over head lost that old power had to deal with. By reducing the lost, we actully improve the grid over all.
