Apologies u/Loyal4Ulster, but thank you again for your feedback, and I look forward to improving my mod behaviour to avoid creating issues like this in future.
This is a smart move if they’re looking to get more attention on domestic abuse generally. Getting ahead of the argument that men are ignored in the conversation is a smart way to get more men especially onside.
To the women who marched and stand with this cause. Thank you. You’re fucking heroes the lot of you!
lmao. people protest anything these days
Let the men walk for themselves. There should be no shame. We won’t break barriers when this is being seen as yet another thing that women need to fix for men.
The story being spun is that fellas facing dv will be seen to be angry if they join a protest. I call BS.
It feels lazy or like they are hiding something. Not wanting to be seen. Just saying.
The Men’s Alliance Facebook is full of posts about male victims saying they are victims of false allegations by women.
Who decides these allegations are false exactly???
The police investigate them and the police are then accused of being biased.
Maybe and just putting this out there maybe there are some abusers in there??
Some men who don’t want to he photographed……
We had great talks about dv in the hospital this year. Noone thought that the people there were angry or liars. We were all very interested to learn about it. Surprised and glad they had made the effort to train us as we didn’t know what we didn’t know.
They could walk alongside family members too – if they want too. Anyone should walk. Like when there are are marches or protests for literally anything else across town.
‘I’m a feminist and support men suffering domestic violence’ lol not the best wording there
Should this not be men (potential victims) marching for this cause and not women (potential perpetrators)?
Was Freedomdad there?
This is good, too many people seem to think issues like rape domestic violence etc are a male vs female issue, its not… its a dirty scumbags vs normal people issue.
Well done to the ladies. Had no idea it was happening but credit to them raising attention to something many men wouldn’t feel confident to admit to
Well said!
As someone who was abused by my mother as a child, and grew up in a household where female vs male domestic abuse happened regularly because of her, I agree with them.
Domestic violence of all kinds of all kinds is horrible. There needs to be more awareness to the fact that women can also be the offenders in a domestic violence situation.
Badly needed. I was in Dublin getting the train up to Belfast 2 days ago and saw a woman thumping the head off her fella. Fella walks out of the Café just looking shocked while staff comfort the woman? Found it bizarre that someone could still be treated like a victim while hitting their partner in public.
Lots of men do, it doesnt have to be physical abuse.
