You had an critical opinion about Malta? BEGONE!
Free speech exists in Malta, right up until the point that you insult the government, the island or the culture
You did yourself a favour.
I think this is a case of autoban, you didn’t say anything out of the ordinary and I’m Maltese haha
But did you already get banned from the “Expats Malta” group on facebook?
All my comments there get deleted. I never write anything remotely offensive.

The comment section moderation is a joke.
The only time I ever tried to comment, it had to be moderate for approval first. Next thing I saw, it was banned with my account. No prior history with them or Disqus. Not even a rude and bad comment. My comment was something on the line of how do people tolerate some of the stuff the politicians do.
Meanwhile, obvious sock puppet accounts of Labour posting absolute bullshit and blaming something on the PN from 80s for some fraud that took place on the current day, while other posts say stuff like “third world country” “shithole country” ” Ghahan’ etc.
I have, never had a comment accepted by TOM
Free speech is non existent or not accepted in Malta. I don’t post on Tom but I regularly leave comments on Instagram and Facebook and here and there’s always so many people that pounce back at me.
Like, I’m just speaking facts 🤷
Most of my comments are quite decent and they don’t get accepted. Then to make things worse I see half-assed comments which get accepted.
Case in point one time some guy posted a list of exaggerated “marijuana symptoms” which included domestic violence and a lot of other silly stuff. I copy and pasted the side-effects of Paracetamol from a recognized website and they didn’t accept my comment. This shows that toM accepts fake information but declines good information. They might do this to stir up controversy or control the comment section like a dystopian overlord. They have an agenda for sure. This was just an example but this has happened to me on other occasions.
I believe the problem is that comments are repetitively negative about Malta …how about a balance, saying something positive about Malta and comparative negativities in other countries. For sure not everything is bad in Malta while everything is good in all the other countries. By the way, I would prefer to learn good aspects about other countries as that could help me improve.
