MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – The CSTO special exercise Barrier 2026 will be held on the territory of Belarus, Vyacheslav Starkov, Chief of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological (RCB) Protection Troops – Head of the RCB Protection and Ecology Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, said in an interview with the VoenTV television channel of the Defense Ministry, BelTA has learned.

“The CSTO special exercise Barrier will take place next year on the territory of Belarus, where we will continue the practice of jointly performing tasks to eliminate biological threats in the interests of the CSTO collective peacekeeping forces,” Vyacheslav Starkov said.

The Barrier 2025 special exercise was previously held on the territory of Tajikistan at the Fakhrabad training ground. A unit from the eighth RCB protection brigade of the Armed Forces participated in it. “A distinctive feature was that specialists from the RCB protection troops, together with medical service specialists, practically performed joint tasks to eliminate biological threats. They conducted special decontamination and eliminated foci of biological contamination,” he added.
