Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv kills 4 people, injures at least 34 • FRANCE 24 English

President said Russia had launched around 430 drones and 18 missiles in overnight attacks. At least four people were killed. Over two dozen were injured. In Kev, strikes hit residential buildings and triggered fires and explosions across the capital. City authorities warned that power and water outages were possible. Ukraine’s air force said that Russian drones and guided bombs also targeted several other regions. Guliver Craig reports. This is probably the worst affected building in Kiev out of 30 residential buildings that have suffered damage overnight according to the mayor. Vitali Klitschko is actually here at the moment talking to rescue workers and inspecting the damage. In the building behind me, three stories have actually collapsed inside. The rescue workers tell us that the floors have collapsed there after the fire that was provoked by a drone hitting the building. It’s not clear whether the drone hit the building deliberately or whether it was shot down but failed to explode in the air. Um there is damage similar damage. There were fires in numerous other buildings in Kiev, not only residential, also a medical facility and administrative buildings according to the local authorities. Um as you said I think four people at the moment are reported to have been killed. 15 hospitalized in the capital and a further 26 have been injured but not um in such ways to necessitate hospitalization. Apart from that in Kiev region there were also attacks in um several areas of the Kiev oblast. Again, they said that infrastructure um relating to the electricity system of Ukraine was targeted, but a spokesman for DTEK, the main private electricity generation company in Ukraine, said that their facilities have not suffered severe damage um overnight in this particular attack. Vladimir Zalinski said that more than 400 drones were used and I think 18 um long-d distanceance rockets apart from Kiev and Kiev region. Sumi in the northeast of the country was also hit this morning.
