I remember being at the Navy days in Den Helder and 3 British navy vessels were part of the ships you could enter and look around on.
One of the British soldiers/sailors was holding this rifle and I asked him if it was heavy, and he said “*s’allright*” and just handed it over to me.
One of the coolest experiences I had as a teen, so thanks Barry 👍

As someone who has had experience with the SA-80. It’s awful…
The A1 version of the L85 was definitely full of problems. Since Heckler and Koch basically completely gutted the rifle and redesigned it it’s actually pretty decent, the new A3 with a monolithic receiver and floating barrel is an accurate and reliable platform that’s well worth persisting with. People seem to forget that the first iterations of many rifles considered to now be excellent were also fairly crap.
I might be wrong but i think we had G3s up till 2019, being swapped to SCAR L and others models.
Can’t they start the Enfield line again with modern versions? Enfield once had the finest rifles in the world.
Wasn’t it refined and enhanced by Germany’s Heckler & Koch?
