Landlords need rights too..
When someone wrecks your house.. see how quick you change stance.
Reform voters will cut off their nose to spite their face and drag the rest of us all down with them.
Reform is literally backed by the establishment, is the darling of the media, and has the government trying to be just like them, while being run by an ex banker and a bunch of former tories… How anyone can claim they are supporting the working class is beyond me…
I am an immigrant and a landlord. I am confused and conflicted…
If Reform voters could read they’d be very upset
You realize the landlord renters bill is purely designed to drive out SMALL landlords so big corporations can take over right?
If it was truly meant for renters and small landlords, it would have had provisions to prevent this.
But it has ‘sweeteners’ so people don’t object.
Fun Fact: Starmer himself has massive shares in some immense property companies.
I’m technically a landlord, we do almost everything the bill wants us to do anyway because we aren’t greedy pricks.
The meme should be the astronomical rise in rents as they force good landlords out of the rental sector (bad landlords didn’t about rules before so certainly won’t now) and the government carries on paying way above market rents to any hmo. On what planet do you think this will do anything but put up rents as supply decreases.
I know the industry well enough. A lot of interested investors are freezing their funds for the foreseeable future on the residential market due to this government. I guess people think the government has infinite resources to give a new house to every single person but it’s just not true. They rely heavily on private investors to increase the housing stock that the government then goes to “BBC” to declare as their success. Why would the investors build those properties out of the kindness of their heart? Simple answer would be money and so on and so forth until the singularity is achieved and we need no more physical stuff 😂😂 not a popular opinion but the capitalist system is the best we have at the minute for good or bad. The others just don’t work unfortunately. Everyone thinks they can do communism better. It’s a zero sum game🤷♂️
Finally, a meme shitting on reform without just non stop insults
Reform are literally bought by russia to destroy the UK
The sooner we realize reform is maga lite the better. They’re not pushing these issues for the better of people, but for the better of themselves when they get power.
The political system sucks but this isn’t the answer
You all seem to hate landlords but do not appear to realise that the alternative is predatory corporations buying up the housing stock, maximising profits and lobbying government so they can dictate rents and conditions. The rental sector and tenants would be far better served by encouraging small landlords, creating a diverse rental sector, which means making it easy to evict non paying and disruptive tenants.
2.8 million landlords > 15 million renters??
How does that math work?
Hay as long as it means less Islam I’ll vote for it!
idk, Sounds like they can’t handle a little truth! Keep standing your ground; change starts with voices like yours.
Let’s just be honest it truly doesn’t matter who gets voted in. Anyone who can’t see politicians and prime ministers are just puppets are just completely brain dead
I truly believe there would not be the slightest difference if greens or reform come into power next election. The biggest difference would be the greens winning would mean we have a slightly better looking puppet we have look at
But they all answer and bow down to the same corporate conglomerates, lobbyists and men behind the curtains
According to what I’ve seen from the news outlets and on the internet, only the Green party in the UK seems to care about the average citizen.
Probably because their policies are suggested by the citizens.
Have a look at the Green Party.
Click the pictures to see their objectives for each policy area.
Anyone who chooses to support reform should probably get booked in for a dementia assessment
I’ve never understood the hypocrisy of knob heads saying “the immigrants and benefit bums are taking all the houses” whilst at the same time the whole pissing buy to rent was becoming an actual fucking career.
This was in the late 90s/00s for me at the time and I’d used to scream is anyone seeing the hypocrisy back then .
Jesus Christ they were seen as forward thinkers and geniuses back then.
Everyone just brushed over how fucked up socially and economically that would not fly.
Haha yup
Landlords get a bad rap at times, I agree to giving tenants the rights but what rights do the landlords get from bad tenants who destroy the property, not pay the rent, cost the landlord thousands and they literally get away with it, it’s unfair I don’t know any other vocation that allows someone to destroy someones property it should be a criminal offence and someone that doesn’t pay the rent it’s theft and fraud if it’s housing benefit it wouldn’t happen in any other industry you would be screwed, it should work both ways
