My grandmothers brother was in the same squad with wojtek. He survived monte casino. After war he escaped to UK because in Poland after war soldiers were persecuted by Stalin. After Monte casino his weight was about 40 kg even that he was 6ft. He came back to Poland in 53 and found my family with help of red cross. His wife didnt even know he was alive when she met him after 9 years.
