>Police do not yet know the motive behind a brutal attack in a Cardiff park that we understand saw a runner stabbed seven times. A 55-year-old man was running through Llandaff Fields at around 5.30am on Monday when two balaclava-clad males assaulted him, police believe.
>A South Wales Police spokeswoman said: “Thankfully his injuries are non-life-threatening and he was released from hospital later the same day. It is believed two males, dressed in dark clothing and wearing balaclavas, are responsible.”
>Much of the park was cordoned off after the attack as a large team of officers raked back undergrowth to search for evidence. The tape has since been lifted and officers have been conducting door-to-door enquiries in the hope of finding doorbell footage.
